Why isn't my site on Google yet?

Google has to find your site first. Usually 3 to 14 days. Here's how to speed it up.

New websites don't show up on Google instantly. Google has billions of pages to look through, and yours is the new kid. Usually you'll appear within 3 to 14 days. Here's how to make it happen faster.

The fast track (about 5 minutes):

Step 1 — Go to Google Search Console

Visit search.google.com/search-console.

Step 2 — Click "Add property"

Pick "URL prefix" and type your full website address (like https://yourbusiness.com).

Step 3 — Verify it's your site

Google gives you a few options. The easiest is "HTML tag" — they give you a code snippet, you send it to us in a support ticket, we add it to your site, then you click Verify.

Step 4 — Submit your sitemap

On the left side, click "Sitemaps." In the box, type sitemap.xml and click Submit. (Your site already has one ready — we set it up.)

Step 5 — Ask Google to crawl your homepage

Paste your homepage URL into the search bar at the top. Click "Request indexing."

After this, Google usually adds you within hours.

Two important things to know:

  1. Showing up on Google for your business NAME happens fast (a few days). Showing up at the top for "plumber near me" takes months — that's a longer game called SEO. New sites are at the back of the line for popular searches.
  1. The fastest way to show up locally is to ALSO claim your Google Business Profile. Most of your customers will find you through Maps before they ever Google your business name. See "How do I get my business on Google Maps?" in this help center.

If it's been more than 2 weeks since launch and you can't find yourself by typing your business name into Google: send us a ticket. Something's probably misconfigured and we'll fix it.
